Arrive in Interlaken, a strategically based town for anyone who wishes to see a lot of the Bernese Oberland. Interlaken is surrounded by the Alps, but actually situated in between two beautiful lakes. After checking into your hotel, you'll find this compact town is easy to navigate. The street connecting both train stations (Ost and West) in 20 mins by foot, the Höheweg, is the main shopping street. The stations offer frequent train, bus and boat services to all attractions. Enjou the rest of the day at your leisure.

After breakfast, a self-guided excursion to Mount Schilthorn awaits you. The Schilthorn is one of the best places to view the Jungfrau massif. At an altitude of 9,744 ft, on a ridge, you can enjoy a 360° view of the Bernese Oberland. From Interlaken, it takes about 90 minutes to reach the Schilthorn All cable cars to the Schilthorn depart from the town of Mürren. You can take the train from Interlaken Ost station (about 20 minutes). Once you are in Lauterbrunnen, you'll take the narrow gauge train to Mürren via Grütschalp. The cable car station can be found on the other end of the village, about 15 minutes on foot. The ascent is an attraction in itself offering breathtaking scenery. Arriving at the summit, apart from the great views from the observation platform, you can also enjoy the revolving panoramic restaurant, which was the first in the world of its kind.

After returnign to Interlaken, have some fun during an interactive chocolate workshop. You will learn why Swiss chocolate is as good as it is and make your own to bring back home.

Enjoy fabulous views of the impressive mountain scenery or historic castles and romantic waterside locations by cruising on beautiful Lake Thun. With a backdrop of the Bernese Alps, glistening turquoise water and a shoreline dotted with castles and chalets, it's an idyllic cruise. The boats depart just outside the rail station Interlaken West. The two-hour cruise operates between Interlaken and Thun, with stops at numerous villages along the way, such as Oberhofen and Spiez.

After returning to the town, the remainder of the day is at your leisure. This evening, you'll partake in activities synonymous with Switzerland; sledding and fondue. You'll be picked up at your hotel and then travel high into the Swiss Alps, After meeting your professional guide, take in the starlit winter panorama before zipping down the 1 hour long sled run. Along the way the trail winds through the woods, crosses alpine meadows and passes majestic frozen waterfalls. Your exhilarating sled run finishes at a small local restaurant where we'll enjoy a traditional Swiss cheese fondue dinner. A great combination of winter fun, nature, and Swiss traditions suitable for everyone.

After breakfast, rail transfer to the airport or Swiss border for your next Avanti destination.
