Hidden beneath the shifting sands for hundreds of years, the well-preserved ancient city was re-discovered in 1806. Jerash was once a significant provincial jewel during the Roman Empire and was visited by the likes of Alexander the Great and notable Emperors such as Trajan and Hadrian.
Return to Amman where you'll spend the rest of the day exploring the Jordanian capital. Amman is a fantastic blend of both ancient and modern characteristics; despite being created mostly during the 20th century. People have settled in the area as early as the Neolithic Age, but it was only in 1921 when Amman kickstarted its rapid growth and transformation into the city that it is today. Still, the city is dotted with historic sites filled with Roman, Byzantine, and ancient Islamic artifacts. Buzzing with lively energy, Jordan's capital is a diverse destination that is definitely worth exploring.

After spending the night glamping in the wilderness, journey towards the lost city of Petra. Check into your hotel then meet up with your guide to begin your first day of exploring Jordan's most famous archaeological site located in the country's southwestern desert.
Dubbed as the 'Rose City', Petra's amazing red and pink hues are a result of the red sandstone upon which the ornate temples and tombs were carved into. Saunter through the narrow canyon called Al Siq to access Petra's most famous structure, Al Khazneh - a temple with an elaborate Greek-style façade. This fascinating construct is also referred to as 'The Treasury'.

After breakfast, you'll travel to the legendary Dead Sea. En route, you'll visit two religiously important destinations.
Stop at the old town of Madaba and visit the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George - a house of worship that's famous for storing a 6th-century map of the Holy Land, complete with detailed depictions of major biblical places. You'll then proceed to Mount Nebo, the holy burial site of Moses and the same location where he was granted a view of the Promised Land.
Arrive in the Dead Sea and check into your accommodation. Landlocked between Jordan and Israel, the Dead Sea is a salt-lake renowned for being the lowest place on land with an elevation of over 1,300 feet below sea level. The lake's intense salinity leads to incredible buoyancy - it's very easy for swimmers to float even without much effort! The mineral-rich mud is also ideal for rejuvenating spa treatments.
