Meet your driver-guide at the train station or airport for your transfer to your hotel in the Wachau Valley. This evening you have a three-course dinner at a restaurant in the village or at your hotel.

After breakfast at your hotel, your private driver-guide will pick you up and head towards the Baroque Benedictine Melk Abbey, situated on a hill overlooking the valley. Founded in 1089, the abbey is one of the most impressive sights in Austria. Visit the Imperial rooms, the church, and especially the famous and beautiful library, containing over 80,000 books. After this visit, have lunch on your own in the village.

After lunch, you have a transfer to the pier and take a boat towards Dürnstein, a charming river town with medieval walls and turrets. Climb the hill to Schloss Dürnstein—the ruins of the castle where King Richard the Lion-Hearted of England was once held captive.

After this visit your driver-guide will bring you back by car to your hotel. This evening you have a wine tasting at the hotel or at a wine tavern in the village. You will taste six white wines and three red wines typical of this famous wine region.
