Discover the lovely medieval city of Perugia, the captivating capital of Umbria. Stroll through the picturesque hillside villages of Montefalco and Bevagna while enjoying some of the finest of Umbrian cuisine. Additionally you'll visit two renowned wineries, and sample some of their elegant wines.

Arrival in Perugia:

After arriving in Perugia, make your way to your hotel and check in. The remainder of your day is free for relaxing or exploring your surroundings.

Perugia:

After breakfast, meet your guide at 10am for your Walking and Tasting Tour. Meet the locals and stroll through a maze of medieval streets as you taste and sip your way through Perugia. Some of the stops and tastings include Perugia's famous chocolates, hand-made truffle pasta, cheeses, an authentic Umbrian "osteria", the city's oldest spice shop, and one of Italy's top rated artisan gelaterias. The tour also includes two wine tastings. Your enthusiastic local guide will share their knowledge and recommendations of historic local attractions, museums, music and art venues, and restaurants. The tour will take approximately 4 hours, and the remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Perugia:

After breakfast, we'll have an early departure (9am) for a full-day tour of the Umbrian countryside. Meet your private English speaking driving escort at your hotel and drive to Montefalco. Visit of this typical village, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful villages of Italy, in the province of Perugia. Surrounded by thirteenth-century walls and towers, it's fondly known as "the railing of Umbria" for its panoramic position, offering a breathtaking views over Perugia, Assisi, and Spoleto.

When thinking of Montefalco, the Sagrantino DOCG wine immediately comes to mind. It's a famous red wine that comes right from this area, which coincidentally will be our next stop at the Lungarotti Winery. You'll have a tour of the vineyards and cellar, culminating with a tasting of 2 wines accompanied by a Bio olive oil and tasty bruschette.

A short ride away is Caprai Winery, the leading producer of top quality Sagrantino di Montefalco. After taking a tour, you'll have a tasting of 3 elegant wines that uniquely express the terroir of Montefalco. You'll also sample one of the locally produced olive oil.

We'll make a final stop at the beautiful village of Bevagna. The town has been included among the most beautiful villages in Italy which will be obvious when you arrive. The city, surrounded by four walls, is called "the town of the Gaite". They are perfectly preserved and marked by square towers through which you access the historic center, characterized by long, narrow streets and very picturesque views. After touring the village, we'll return to Perugia around 5pm.
