Rio do Janeiro:
Begin with a scenic drive along Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, arriving at the bottom of Corcovado Hill. Here you will board a comfortable train that will transport you to the top of the mountain where the statue of Christ the Redeemer, is located (2,300 ft above sea level). Continue by elevator and escalator to reach the statue. At this point, you have a magnificent view of Rio de Janeiro. It will now be apparent why the statue of Christ is sometimes referred to as the wonder of Rio. You will then continue to the other famous landmark, Sugar Loaf Mountain.

Located in the middle of the Guanabara Bay, Sugar Loaf gives you another breathtaking panoramic view of the city. Take the two-stage cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf. This solid granite monolith, standing 887 feet tall, overlooks the entrance to Rio's harbor and Guanabara Bay. The first stage of the cable car takes you to Morro da Urca (558 feet), where there is a restaurant and a heliport. The second stage takes you to the top for an unforgettable view. After your tour of Sugar Loaf, continue to a local restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, your tour will continue to downtown Rio to see some of the historical sites such as the Cathedral and the Municipal Theatre. You will be returned to your hotel at the end of the tour.

Iguassu Falls:
After breakfast, depart with your guide on the Argentina and Brazil Falls Tour. It is highly recommended that you view the Falls from both sides because they are very different. Beginning on the Brazil side, you will stroll along the trail descending into the canyon that offers a panoramic view of the falls. Be prepared to feel the spray from the falls, as you walk along the catwalks to get a closer look. Take the glass elevator up the cliff face for an exquisite view from the upper deck. There will be a stop for lunch (not included) before continuing to the Argentina side. After lunch, the tour continues across the Tancredo Neves Bridge and the border crossing to Iguassu National Park in Argentina. At the entrance, you will board a small train for a visit through the park with 2 stops before reaching the trail where the walking tour begins. You will visit the upper walkways, which allow for more intimate contact with the falls and the rainforest. The highlight of the trip is a visit to the suspended platform at the very brink of the Devil's Throat - the largest of the falls. Late afternoon return to Brazil to your selected hotel.

Buenos Aires:
Take a half-day city tour that will show you the highlights of Buenos Aires. The tour first takes you to the city's historic center, Plaza de Mayo, a lovely plaza with flower gardens and tall palm trees; the scene of many of the city's historic political events. Surrounding the plaza are colonial buildings of interest: the Casa Rosada, the seat of the executive branch of the government; the Cabildo with its historic museum; the Metropolitan Cathedral, which holds the tomb of General Jose de San Martin, the father of Argentine independence. The tour continues down the Avenida de Mayo to the National Congress. Continue along Avenida 9 de Julio, with its 8 lanes, the widest avenue in the world. In the middle of this avenue, in the Plaza de la Republica, the Obelisk rises as a symbol of the city. It was built in 1936 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the founding of the city. Another landmark is the famous Colon Opera House, which brings in the world's most notable singers and musicians. No tour would be complete without a visit to the picturesque La Boca district, the old port area that reflects its Italian heritage. Continue to San Telmo, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. Originally a center for immigrant settlers, it is a neighborhood of colonial houses and cobblestone streets. On Sundays, there is an antique fair in Plaza Dorrego. The area also has a lively nightlife with many restaurants, bars and tango houses. The tour passes the developing new district of Puerto Madero, and continues through Palermo with its parks, gardens, and elegant residential area, to the sophisticated district of Recoleta, where you will pass the famous Recoleta Cemetery with its ornate memorials, including the tomb of Eva Peron. The tour finishes at your hotel.

Buenos Aires:
Spend the day on your own, exploring this magical city. What better way to spend an evening in Buenos Aires than with this city's quintessential music? Tango is the music of Buenos Aires par excellence. Its origin can be traced back to 1880 to the slums inhabited by Italian and Spanish immigrants, Africans, and gauchos. Despite its humble origins, in the 1920s tango moved into the high-class ballrooms. To feel its spirit, visit one of the restaurants that offer a high-quality tango show, and enjoy the sensual magnetism of tango performed by some of the best dancers, singers and musicians in Buenos Aires. You will be picked up at your hotel and taken to one of the typical tango houses in the San Telmo, the neighborhood of tango. Dinner will be Argentine specialties including good Argentine wine. After dinner, enjoy a fabulous tango show. After the show (around midnight), return transportation is provided to your hotel.
