After a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, continue on to discover Ollantaytambo, one of the largest archaeological complexes in Peru, strategically located on a mountaintop at an elevation of 9,100 feet.

Take an overnight bag with you on the Vistadome Train to Aguas Calientes. From here take a bus to traverse the switchbacks to the top of the mountain where you find Machu Picchu. Enjoy lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge Hotel before exploring this iconic example of Inca architecture with a private guide. Overnight in one of Avanti's local hotels.

In the morning, bus tickets and an entrance ticket are provided for a second opportunity to visit Machu Picchu on your own. In the afternoon, take the Vistadome train back to Cuzco and check in to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a private tour of Cuzco by night. You'll see Cuzco from a different perspective as you stop by the Cristo Blanco and San Cristobal lookout points, from which you will get a beautiful view of the city. Then descend to the historic center for a leisurely stroll around the Plaza. Afterwards, visit a well known bar for lessons from an expert bartender on how to make the traditional Pisco Sour cocktail. Finally, back to your hotel to rest!

Board the Belmond Andean Explorer Train at the Cuzco train station. Unwind in your cabin as the train begins its journey towards Puno. Savor your lunch in one of the elegant dining cars, as you enjoy refined Andean specialties. In the afternoon, disembark to visit Raqchi archaeological site - once an important control point for the Incas. After the visit, return to the train in time for tea. Later, observe a sensational sunset over La Raya Mountain Range, then prepare for an elegant dinner on board. Enjoy conversing with your fellow travelers as the train heads for Lake Titicaca, where you will overnight.

Awake early to catch the sunrise across Lake Titicaca, before enjoying a delicious breakfast in the dining car. Today you'll experience the diversity of Lake Titicaca, the largest lake in South America. First, take a traditional boat ride out to the Uros Islands, stunning man-made lands carefully crafted from woven reeds that are constantly being replenished. Continue on to Taquile Island, whose indigenous residents have a way of life barely touched by time. Enjoy a private lunch on Collata Beach, with demonstrations from traditional dancers and artisanal workers. Return to the train for afternoon tea as you continue towards Arequipa. In the evening, enjoy a final delicious dinner in the dining car.

Enjoy breakfast on the train before setting off on an early morning excursion to the spellbinding rugged scenery of Lake Lagunillas. Afterwards visit Sumbay Caves, home to fascinating cave paintings almost 8,000 years old. Return to the train for lunch as the train continues to Arequipa, known for its stunning architecture and delicious local cuisine. In the afternoon, bid farewell to the train and find your hotel for your final night of the program.
