Welcome to Peru! Upon late arrival, you will be welcomed and escorted to your airport hotel minutes away walking from the Internationals Arrivals gate.

After breakfast at your hotel, our representative will meet you and walk you to the airport for check in and board your flight. Upon arrival in Cuzco, you will be transferred to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. En route you will stop at Hacienda Sarapampa, where the owners still produce the giant corn of the Andes. Here you will enjoy a farm-to-table lunch.

Then on to Ollantaytambo, an Inca military, religious and agricultural center built on a mountain summit. There you can explore the narrow streets of the village, where Incan walls have been repurposed into houses. At the end of town, you will visit the ruins of an Inca ceremonial center. In the afternoon check in to your hotel, and spend a relaxing evening acclimating to the high altitude.

Today you have a full-day excursion the Piuray Lagoon, where you can choose between kayaking and paddle boarding. You'll receive a safety talk plus practice on dry land for the paddleboard. While moving through the lagoon, you can appreciate the great natural landscapes of the area. At the end of your experience on water, enjoy a snack surrounded by the beauty of the place.

Continue to Misminay community, where the townspeople will give you a warm welcome with typical music and dances. Here, you will experience the Andean lifestyle up-close, learning about the local plants and participating by the planting and harvesting of some produce, according to the season. Then, guided by your hosts, you will prepare a delicious traditional dish using only local products, which you will enjoy for lunch. In the afternoon, your hosts will guide you with music and chants towards the Moray viewpoint, where you will have a privileged view of this important Inca agricultural center and the Sacred Valley. When this amazing cultural exchange experience is over, you will return to your hotel. Evening at leisure.

After breakfast, transfer to the Ollantaytambo Train Station and board the train to the village of Aguas Calientes (approximately 90 minutes), in the valley below Machu Picchu. There you will board a bus that will take you up the switchback road (approximately 20 minutes) to the legendary "Lost City of the Incas", Machu Picchu. Here you can see one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World and take some impressive photos on a guided tour. Then it is back down to Aguas Calientes for lunch in Café Inkaterra. Afternoon and evening at leisure.

Morning at leisure to visit the Machu Picchu archeological complex on your own if desired (2nd entrance required). Please verify the schedule of your entrance, maximum 4 hours in the citadel.

At the proper time, board the train back to Ollantaytambo. Then transfer to Cuzco by van. Evening at leisure to explore the city on your own.

In the morning, enjoy a Half-Day Walking Tour of Cuzco, the imposing Imperial City, an example of the coexistence of the Andean and Spanish cultures. You will begin at the Koricancha, an ancient sacred space that the Incas dedicated to the worship of the sun and the moon, and over which the congregation of the Dominicans built the Santo Domingo temple. Then visit the Main Square, on which is located the imposing Cathedral, and the magnificent Jesuit church, as well as other colonial buildings, which all together compose one of the most beautiful and captivating sceneries in Peru.

In the afternoon, head to the restaurant at the Museum of Pre-Hispanic Art (MAP), in the beautiful courtyard of a colonial mansion, for a lesson of the best examples of Andean cuisine. Afterwards, a participate in creating a delicious lunch from fresh local ingredients. Late afternoon and evening at leisure.

After breakfast, transfer to Cuzco airport for your flight back to Lima. Then take a two-hour connecting flight to Talara. Upon arrival at Talara Airport, you will have a 1 1/2 hour transfer to your beautiful beachfront hotel at Máncora Beach. Upon arrival, you'll enjoy a spa session, followed by dinner.

You'll be picked up at 7 a.m. for a transfer to Nuro Bay, one of the most beautiful bays in northern Peru, to try out paddle boarding. Here giant tortoises live together with other endemic species. You can enjoy paddling on the quiet side of the bay, or trying your hand at surfing the relatively small waves. You'll be returned to your hotel at 11 a.m for some free time at the beach.

After enjoying a lazy afternoon on the beach, you will have an afternoon horseback ride in the bay to enjoy the sunset.

After your buffet breakfast, you have the morning at leisure to sit by the pool, enjoy the beach, or perhaps take an optional whale-watching excursion (available July-October). In the afternoon, you'll be transferred to the Talara Airport for your return flight to Lima. There you can connect to your international flight, or continue on to your next Avanti destination!
