Guatemala City to Coban:

Discover the Biotopo del Quetzal, one of Guatemala's most beautiful natural sites, on your way to Copan. The name comes from Guatemala's national bird, the elusive Quetzal that makes this sanctuary home. Tour the sanctuary and keep a look out for these colorful birds, as well as howler monkeys, rare orchids, and other amazing sites. In the afternoon, check in to your Coban hotel.

Coban:

Visit the national monument Semuc Champey. Tucked into the forest mountains you will find a slow moving turquoise river winding through limestone caves and waterfalls. These tiered pools create perfect natural swimming pools in an unsurpassed environment.

Coban to Copan, Honduras:

Copan Ruins Tour: This morning you will drive to the border with Honduras. After immigration formalities, you will drive to Copan, one of the most fascinating Mayan ruin sites. You will be allowed to explore and marvel at the beautiful stellae and majestic temples, including a complete ball court.

Copan to Rio Dulce:

Quirigua Ruins Tour: After breakfast you will return to Guatemalan territory to visit the archaeological site of Quirigua. In the afternoon proceed to Rio Dulce for overnight accommodations.

Rio Dulce to Tikal:

In the morning join the launch excursion to Livingston and the Castillode San Felipe. After lunch, transfer by land to Flores.

Ceibal Ruins Tour:

You will be picked up from your hotel and transfered to the Mayan Archeaological site situated in Sayaxche, near the banks of La Pasion River in Ceibal, where you can see crocodiles and exotic birds. The Ceibal Stelae is among the finest and best perserved sculptures of the late Classic Period.

Tikal-Guatemala City:

Full-day excursion to Tikal. Looming out of the dense jungle of the Peten region, the massive temples of Tikal are an unforgettable sight. It is the height of these pyramids and the quantity of constructions, an estimated 3000 scattered throughout 10 square miles, which distinguish Tikal from other Mayan sites. Overnight Camino Real. In the late afternoon, transfer to Flores (approximately 45 minutes) for the 6:30 pm (approximately one hour) flight to Guatemala City. Transfer to your selected hotel. Overnight.
