Misminay Andean Community Overnight Stay
Located an hour and fifteen minutes from the city of Cusco, high up in the heart of the Sacred Valley, visit the Misminay community to learn about the Andean way of live, and enjoy a unique cultural exchange. Travelers can share in the daily activities of Mullaka's Misminay villagers, such as helping with farm chores and the herding of animals, learning about knitting and weaving techniques and gaining and insight into traditional healing techniques with the use of endemic plants. Stay the night in specially outfitted homes with local families where you can take your learning experience one more step by learning some rudimentary Quechua, the indigenous dialect, as well as sample some delicious customary dishes. Today, a truly unique experience awaits you. You'll visit Misminay, a small Andean community inhabited by 100 families, where you can admire the landscape of snow-capped mountains that surround the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You'll have a private transfer from Cusco, along with a guide to interpret and assist you at all times. Start your stay by receiving a warm welcome from the families of the community with a caravan of traditional music, dances, and necklaces of flowers from the region. Your hosts will share their traditional Andean lifestyle through many participatory activities. You'll also take part in local gastronomy through delicious traditional dishes prepared by your hosts using local supplies, which you will enjoy both at lunch time and dinner. In the evening, your hosts will accompany you to a cozy campfire where they will share local stories, while gazing at the beautiful starry sky of Cusco. Then, share a delicious typical Andean dinner with your hosts. At the end of the day, you will be invited to spend the night at the home of a local family, where you'll have a private room with a shared bathroom.
