Jerusalem to Tiberias:

Depart Jerusalem and head for Tiberias. Start the day in Nazareth, the cradle of Christianity, where tradition tells us that the angel Gabriel told Mary that she would conceive by the power of the Holy Spirit, and the place where Jesus spent his childhood and youth. In the afternoon, explore the most iconic Christian sites on the northern shores of the Sea of Galilee.

Visit Capernaum, where according to the Christian tradition, Jesus served here as a local rabbi and performed miracles. Tiberias to Tel Aviv:

Travel to the ancient crusader port city of Acre (Akko), a fascinating UNESCO town with new excavations that are 1000 years old. Visit the Crusader Halls and the Hospitaller Fortress and walk the underground Templars' Tunnel that leads from the fortress to the city's port. These fortifications repelled Napoleon Bonaparte's siege in 1799. Spend some time walking through the Arab Bazaar with vendors selling fresh fish and other goods and see Al-Jazzar Mosque.

Next stop is Haifa, Israel's third largest city that sits on the slopes of Mt. Carmel. First, take in the impressive Baha'i Gardens that dominate the Bay. The Baha'i faith is a relatively new one, founded 200 years ago in Persia. The faith has components from many other religions including calling for unity of all people.

Afterwards, visit the ancient city of Caesarea, built by Herod the Great and once the Roman capital of Judea. The ancient port, the Roman hippodrome, the amphitheater, and an impressive palace are among the many historical treasures in this fascinating ancient city. The site has important significance for Christians, as it was here that Pontius Pilate imprisoned Peter and the first pagan, Cornelius, was converted to Christianity. Continue on to Tel Aviv and check into your hotel for the evening.
