A metropolis on the Mediterranean, Tel Aviv is a hidden gem that boasts golden beaches, along with a thriving beach culture, that exudes an undeniably cosmopolitan ambience most evident in its unmistakable Bauhaus architecture, burgeoning and groundbreaking culinary scene, and its legendarily raucous nightlife. This city is often compared to Manhattan, full to the brim with packed clubs hosting cutting edge dance music, modern art museums along with avant garde galleries, and easily-walked streets plastered in street art - but can Manhattan match the beaches and Bauhaus of Tel Aviv?

Tel Aviv:

After breakfast, meet your guide for a private Tel Aviv Highlights Tour. Get your bearings by starting in Jaffa, which is today simply a neighborhood of Tel Aviv but is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world. Settlement in Jaffa can be traced back all the way to 1800 BC but today Jaffa is a bustling entertainment district set within the old city. With narrow streets and historic architecture juxtaposed by hip restaurants, bars, and cutting-edge art galleries, it is easy to see why Jaffa is such an attractive destination today. Start at Kedumim Square, the heart of Old Jaffa, see the Franciscan-style St. Peter's Church, and then pay a visit to the famous Jaffa Flea Market - one of the most vibrant places in the whole city, popular with foodies, local trendsetters, and tourists alike.

Afterwards, walk the Neve Tzedek to Tel Aviv's hip neighborhood to visit the Carmel Market, the city's biggest market where you'll find everything from fresh produce to electronics and clothing. Included as part of the tour is a tasting card, allowing you to taste-test the many delicacies purveyed here. Finally, end the day with a stroll down Rothschild Boulevard in an area called The White City. This neighborhood is designated a UNESCO World Heritage site for its bevy of whitewashing buildings constructed in distinctive Bauhaus style. After the tour ends, return to your hotel where the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Tel Aviv to Jerusalem:

After breakfast, check-out of your Tel Aviv hotel and meet your driver for your transfer to your hotel in Jerusalem. After checking-in at your new hotel, meet your guide to begin your tour of Jerusalem and the nearby city of Bethlehem. Start by ascending Mt. Scopus for a panoramic view of Jerusalem from above before entering the Old City. Walk through the Armenian and Jewish Quarters to see the Wailing Wall, the last remnant of the Second Temple of Jerusalem and the holiest place of the Jewish people. Behind it sits the sacred Dome of the Rock, where Prophet Muhammad began his Night Journey. After visiting this hallowed area, continue to the Christian Quarter to walk the Via Dolorosa, otherwise known as the Way of the Cross, the path Jesus Christ took on the way to his crucifixion on route to the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre, believed to be the place where he was crucified. Before moving onto Bethlehem, enjoy some free time perusing the stalls at the Arab Bazaar.

In the afternoon, drive to nearby Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus Christ. Walk through Manger Square and visit the Church of the Nativity, one of the oldest continuously operating churches in the world today built atop the spot where Jesus was thought to be born. Before returning to Jerusalem, visit the Walled Off Hotel, an art exhibit-turned hotel featuring pieces by the mysterious street-artist Banksy.

After returning to Jerusalem, the rest of the evening is at your leisure.

Jerusalem:

After breakfast, meet your driver for a tour of the Judean wilderness, travelling to the fortress of Masada, to the caves of Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, and to the Dead Sea - the lowest point on earth. Begin the day at the plateaued fortress of Masada, built by Herod the Great, that sits high above the desert and provides incredible views of the surrounding landscape. Then visit the Dead Sea, famous for its high salinity that makes swimmers unsinkable and for the rejuvenating properties of the water and mud. On the way back to Jerusalem, stop at Qumran National Park, a network of caves that date back to the time before Christ where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. See these caves for yourself and learn about the Essenes, the Jewish sect that settled here, before returning to Jerusalem, where the rest of the evening is at your leisure.

Jerusalem:

These days are free for you to explore Jerusalem as you wish! For those looking to try some of the local cuisine, a visit to Machane Yehuda Market is not to be missed. This main market of Jerusalem, and probably one of the most colorful in Israel, allows you to see a rare glimpse into the Jerusalemite culture while also tasting some delicious food.

If you are looking to further explore some of the biblical sites in the area, cross the Kidron Valley and stop at Mount Zion, to visit King David's Tomb, and the Room of the Last Supper, site of the last meal of Jesus with his disciples. Or you may even choose to add a day trip to Jericho, the oldest city in the world. Here you can see Zacchaeus' Sycamore tree and take in a view of the Mt. of Temptation.
