Start off by immersing yourself in the food culture of the capital city of Lima. Then journey to The Sacred Valley of the Inca, located in the Peruvian Andes, and discover such historic ruins as Ollantaytambo and of course Machu Picchu. And finally, bask in the Spanish Colonial architecture and beautiful ruins of Cuzco (aka Cusco locally), where you'll also learn to cook traditional Peruvian cuisine!

Arrive Lima:

Arrive in Lima and take a private transfer to your hotel. Depending upon your time of arrival, step out and explore the city or just rest up for your big day tomorrow!

Two private food-based tours are your introduction to Peruvian cuisine. First, the Private Lima Gastronomy Tour begins with a visit to a typical Peruvian market; then gives you an exclusive lesson in how to prepare pisco sour and ceviche, two of the hallmarks of not just the national cuisine, but the very culture of Peru. Finally, enjoy a delicious lunch consisting of Peru's most important dishes. Save some room because you aren't done yet! Later that evening, you'll embark on the Private Taverns and Bars of Lima Tour, which includes visits to three traditional bars and taverns in the center of the city. Appetizers and a delicious pisco sour (or another local drink) is waiting for you at each one, while you listen to tales from the historic past.

Lima to Sacred Valley:

This transitional day consists of a local flight from Lima to Cuzco, with transfers to and from the respective airports.

Check into your Sacred Valley hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring on your own, discovering your new favorite local dish, or simply relaxing.

Sacred Valley:

You'll be picked up from your hotel by driver and guide for a Private Pisac Ruins, Pisac Market, and Ollantaytambo Tour. Your first stop is Awanakancha, a weaving center. Then visit the archaeological remains in the Inca Valley of Pisac, which has a beautiful view across the River Vilcanota. This combination of ruins and landscape makes for an unforgettable experience. Afterwards, stroll around the famous Pisac market, where local artisans sell fine handicrafts and quality products from throughout the region. After lunch in a local restaurant, the tour continues to Ollantaytambo, where you will visit the still-occupied ancient village and an Inca fortress bearing the same name.

Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu:

All aboard to historic Machu Picchu, the "must-do" attraction of any vacation to Peru. You’ll be transferred to the rail station for your round-trip train to Machu Picchu. A comfortable train ride with large panoramic windows offers incomparable scenic views and numerous opportunities to capture amazing pictures of the impressive landscapes.

Arrive in Machu Picchu Pueblo and meet your guide, who will escort you to the local bus stop. From there, you will head to the top of the mountain and the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu. After having your passport checked, you will enjoy a 2.5 hour guided tour of the site, visiting the famed Inca ruins (you have 4 hours in the site total). Afterwards, enjoy lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge Hotel, located adjacent to the entrance of the ruins.

Machu Picchu to Cuzco:

Start your day with a second entrance into Machu Picchu, then catch the train back to Ollantaytambo station, and catch your private transfer to Cuzco. Check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Enjoy a Private Cooking Class at Map Cafe. This tour will give you unique insight into the Peruvian cultural experience and expand your ongoing knowledge of the cuisine. A local chef will teach you how to prepare traditional Peruvian dishes, and then you'll have a delicious lunch consisting of the dishes you've prepared!
