Tallinn:

This morning take a walking tour of Tallinn Old Town with an English-speaking guide. Explore the highlights, which include Alexander Nevski Cathedral, Toompea Castle, St. Nicholas Church and the Gothic Town Hall. After the walking tour you will have free time for shopping and lunch on your own.

In the afternoon you will drive by private car to the Rocca al Mare Open Air Museum, displaying fine examples of Estonian rural architecture from the last 200 years—old farmhouses, fishermen's houses, a village church, a village school, and a variety of windmills. After this tour you will return to your hotel by private car for dinner on your own.

(Breakfast & Accommodations, Tallinn)

Tallinn:

A free day to explore the city on your own. If you wish, you can book an optional bike tour, which will take you to the seashore and to Peter the Great's summer palace in Kadriorg Park. Return via the seaside promenade that takes you past the old city walls to the Old Town (duration: 2½ to 3 hours).

Tallinn to Riga:

After breakfast and checkout, meet your tour escort who will be with you as you travel by mini-van from Estonia to Latvia. After you cross the border, stop at Sigulda to visit the medieval castles of Turaida and Sigulda, dating from the early 13th century. Climb one of the towers for a beautiful view over the Gauja River Valley. Then continue on by minivan to Riga and check into your hotel.

(Breakfast, Tallinn; Accommodations, Riga)

Riga:

This morning you have a guided private-car tour of Riga, including the largest Art Nouveau District north of Vienna; and the Old Town of Riga, where you will visit the magnificent Dome Cathedral and other medieval buildings. Your tour ends back your hotel, and you have the afternoon and evening at leisure.

Riga to Vilnius:

This morning your driver-guide takes you from Latvia to Lithuania. Along the way you have a stop at the Hill of Crosses, the Lithuanian national pilgrimage center. Standing upon a small hill are many hundreds of thousands of crosses that represent Christian devotion and a memorial to Lithuanian national identity.

After this visit, continue on to Vilnius and check in at your hotel. You have the evening at leisure.

(Breakfast, Riga; Accommodations, Vilnius)

Vilnius:

Today you have a combination car and walking tour of the city, known as the "Baroque Beauty of the Baltic." The Old Town of Vilnius is one of the biggest and oldest in Eastern Europe, with a splendid architectural blend of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Classical styles. The city is situated on the banks of the rivers Neris and Vilnia; Gediminas Castle, built in the 1500s, offers a commanding view of the rivers and the entire city. The tour ends at your hotel, or you can stay in the city center for further exploration on your own.

If you wish, you can arrange for an optional hot air balloon tour over the city—a unique way to have a panoramic view of the city.
