Today, England's historic gems await outside of London. On this well-designed journey, reach the puzzling Stonehenge before the crowds in the mid-morning. Try to debunk some of the mysteries of these structures that have marveled visitors for over 5000 years, and continue westwards to Bath, the only hot springs in England. Frequented by the Romans over 2000 years ago, it flourished again in the 18th century when it became a fashionable place for the rich and famous.

Departing Bath, ride along the Cotswold edge onto Windsor Castle, one of the largest castles in the world. Walking through the royal apartments, admire the lavishly furnished rooms, the private art collection, and the last resting places of Henry VIII and Charles I in St. George's Cathedral. Finish at the historic Runnymede - the agreement location of the Magna Carta - before returning to London.

Today is about history, the scenic beauties of Scotland, and life outside of Edinburgh. Pass through magnificent Glencoe, the scene of the Mac-Donalds clan massacre by the Campbells in 1692. Visit Fort William, the beginning of the Great Glen, a narrow valley that crosses the mountainous landscape all the way to Inverness. Pass by Fort Augustus along the same valley and reach Loch Ness, a tranquil lake that harbors the mythical creature that bears its name. After a delightful boat ride or walk along the lake, return to Edinburgh via Monarch of the Glen county and Highland Perthshire. End this amazing day with a great dinner at a local restaurant in old Edinburgh.
