Arrival:
Arrive in Munich, Germany's center for lovers of beer, fast cars, and fashion. After check into your hotel, the remainder of the day is at your leisure. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a typical Bavarian restaurant: the Ratskeller, in the center of the Old Town.

Munich:
Use your Hop-on/Hop-off bus pass to see the Old Town: the Frauenkirche cathedral, Odeonsplatz, and many other interesting sites. If the weather is good, stroll through the Englischer Garten (English Garden) - a popular public park where you can observe the locals at leisure. If automobiles interest you, consider a visit to the BMW Museum (admission charge) in the northern part of the city.

In the evening, take part in a Beer and Foo Walking Tour, to learn about the different types of Bavarian beer and sample them. The tour will introduce a traditional Bavarian food "Brotzeit": cold meats, cheese, pickles with bread, butter and pretzels.

Munich to Nuremberg:
Using your First-Class German Railpass, take the one-hour train ride to Nuremberg, the capital of the Franconia region and the place where Bratwurst was first served. Explore the city's many historic sites at your own page, and don't miss the opportunity to stop at a tavern or beer cellar to try the regional specialties, such as Bratwurst and beer-and-ginger-bread.

Nuremberg-Bayreuth-Nuremberg:
Today travel by train to Bayreuth (approx. one hour) and visit the impressive Maisel's Beer Experience World. Learn the secrets of brewing craftsmanship during this private guided tour. After the tour, there is free time to discover Bayreuth on your own. The town is famous for its annual Music Festival featuring Richard Wagner's operas; in addition to a Wagner Museum there is also one dedicated to the life of Franz Liszt (admission fee charged at both). Later in the day, travel back to Nuremberg by train.

Nuremberg-Bamberg-Nuremberg:
Just a 40-minute train ride from Nuremberg is Bamberg, one of the best-preserved walled towns in all of Germany, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover the beauty of Bamberg's medieval and baroque architecture during a private city tour, then get to know its beer specialty: "Smoked beer." The tour includes sampling three different smoked beers from this town. After the tour, return to Nuremberg to spend the final evening of this package.
