A tasting of these delicious cookies will soon reveal why they are so popular. Next it's time for some liquid refreshment in the form of es teler, a fruit coconut cocktail sweetened with condensed milk.

We'll take a walk around the market in Badung to see the unusual herbs, spices, vegetables and fruits that are on display. Your guide will describe them in detail and explain how they are used in Indonesian cooking. There's even the chance to try some of the fresh fruits and colorful Indonesian cakes. South Bali:

The day is at your leisure, however late in the afternoon you will be taken to the famous cliff-hanging temple at Uluwatu. Perched on the edge of a steep cliff, the temple sits 230 feet above the crashing waves of the Indonesian Ocean. The temple is inhabited by a large number of Macaque monkeys, many of whom can be found roaming the pathways. As the sun sets over the glittering ocean, watch a dramatic Kecak dance or Ramayana Monkey Chant performance at the temple. Wearing traditional checked cloth around their waists, the male dancers chant in unison while depicting a battle from the Ramayana.

After the performance we'll drive to one of the beautiful beaches in Jimbaran for a barbecue seafood dinner in a beach warung, which are small local cafe-type places that serve traditional local food. You'll feast on a succulent seafood platter, including prawns, grilled fish, squid and clams. Another traditional dish to sample is kangkung, also known as Indonesian water spinach, accompanied by sambal, a spicy Indonesian sauce.

For over a thousand years, Batuan has been a village of artists and craftsmen, old legends and mysterious tales. The temple is beautifully designed with Balinese ornaments and the roof temple building consists of fiber from the chromatic black palm tree. Afterwards, we'll make our way to the stunning coastal Tanah Lot temple, located on a rock island in the sea. Have your camera ready as this is the most famous and photographed place in Bali.
